The use of sodium glucoheptylate as concrete admixture can play two roles: 1. retarding effect, which can greatly prolong the hydration time of cement under the dosage of sodium glucoheptylate, and better solve the problem of early setting of concrete; 2. It can delay the corrosion of reinforcement. When sodium glucoheptylate is used in reinforced concrete members, it can obviously alleviate the corrosion of reinforcement, thus playing a role of corrosion inhibition.
